This article analyzes Isabel Allende’s work, Ines of My Soul by concentrating on magic realism as is found in the book. The authors highlight the key features of magical realism and their importance in literature. The main characteristic of magic realism is that it does not make a distinction between fantasy and reality. Although magic realism contains features and themes common in other genres, it differs in the way that they are applied and used in the texts. They highlight the importance of magic realism in Latin America. Magic realism is paramount in redefining Latin American culture. The authors show how Allende’s book contains different features of magic realism. Allende is able to combine both magic and realism effortlessly. She incorporates fable and myth in her work. Allende uses the principles of magic realism in her work. She incorporates binary opposition in terms of truth and fiction and reality and imagination. She also uses historical events and superstition in her work. This article is crucial as it helps one to understand diverse aspects of magic realism.

This article describes the magic realism elements present in the book Lamb of God. Marele Day, the author of the text combines religion and magic realism in her book. The article illustrates how the author combines myths, parables, metaphors, rituals, legends, and sacred stories in the text while at the same time including different elements of magic and real life experiences. The authors use of myths stem largely from Christian influence. The author presents different kinds of realities in the text. The activities that seem normal to the local people and their daily experiences are viewed as strange by the rest of the world. Day’s work is seen as magic realism largely because it combines myths, which may seem to represent magic to others. The article shows how authors present magic realism in different ways. Some authors combine magic and realism directly, and the two elements exist together. Other authors show how magic is present in people’s lives and experiences, although they may not be obvious to it.
