Design chapters- Summary
Introduction
Product designing has been an age-old practice in terms of engineering concepts that see a vision enacted into reality. Industrialization and civilization have been enhanced and further influenced by the creativity standards in designing of products, tools and machines for human use. The process used to achieve the design comprises technical activities witnessed in the development process. With the continuous evolvement of technology, increased machine efficiencies, increase in demand by human activities and the need for specialization, product design is an integral part of the world we live in.
Discussion
In the process of designing a product, refinement of the item is necessary, while instituting the vision required to achieve the result. This does not include the manufacturing phase of the product when physically made. Usually the three basic stakeholders in product designing are the client, designer and the final user. In the market operation, the essence of good designing is to provide satisfaction to the user while maximizing the potential benefits gained from the sale of the product to the client and user. The designer has to obtain the user’s requirements and the client’s specifications. The designer is solely responsible for the outcome and reception of the final product.
Conclusion
Throughout history from the medieval ages to the present day, product designing has been graciously practiced. This encompasses devices, machines and tools used by humans in everyday activities. The three parties involved in any design include the client, user and the designer. Appropriate materials, procedure and overall manufacturing process determine the efficiency of the product in question. According to human activities, there is always a growing concern on the improvement and appropriateness of all the products. This strengthens the need for proper and informed designing of products.
