Engineering Professions
An engineer is required to carry out duties dependent on the implementation of established expert engineering knowledge within the scope for personal achievement and coordination in which, he or she is able to devise original and new approaches and measures dedicated to the development and design of equipment, products, buildings, or facilities, as stated by White and Pečnik [23]. Moreover, Eide [45] asserts that an engineer commences or partakes in short-term or long-term planning for making sovereign decisions based on engineering procedures, provides technical advice to operating and management departments, decides action necessary for expedition of successful project management and completion, assumes detailed responsibility for the development of products, coordinates occupation-based programs and detects utilization of materials and equipment.
Personally, I am considerably intrigued by software engineering. With the way in which technology has advanced, it is impossible to ignore the strides that software engineers have made in establishing the utilization of novel application programs that have become rather common in the new age as evidenced by Thayer and Christensen [34]. As such, one of the aspects of this professional field does involve the creation and design of applications. Nowadays, all devices have some form of program that makes the device unique and easy to utilize for any individual. It is because of this that I find software engineering to be significantly fascinating. The fact that complex engineering processes within computing technology can be used to make simple application programs for all devices such as mobile phones and computers is an aspect to behold. This is based on how such facets have become part of the lives of all individuals regardless of their location. With a simple mobile phone, an individual can access tons of programs that can assist him or her with easy tasks such as texting or even complicated tasks such as developing complex computing algorithms.
