Online Shopping
Online shopping can be described as the process where a person buys items through the internet. Online shopping is gaining popularity due to its speed. The main advantage of online shopping is that it only requires three main steps for its success. The first step in online shopping is the purchase of the product. This stage involves the customer going through the varieties offered and selecting the specific product they would like to buy (Bill, 2013). The next stage is for the customer to select the shop where they would like to purchase the product. This has proven to be slightly tricky because the customer is not sure of the honesty of the shop. This means the customer can easily be conned by a fake shop. The next stage in online shopping is the procedure of payment where the customer can pay for the product using a credit card on the internet. This has also proven to be risky because, through this, the customer’s details are leaked. Finally, in online shopping there is physical delivery. Deliveries can be shipped, picked from stores or downloaded.
There are different views about online shopping. For instance, in the article on the Huff Post, Tech dated June 26 2013; Bill Robinson claims that women perceive online shopping as a form of entertainment, unlike men (Bill, 2013). This has, therefore, promoted the targeting of the women shoppers by these online companies. Online shopping companies also target women because women shop from everyone, unlike men. This means that women can shop for a variety of products. Other online customers also believe that they are able to save more through buying online. This is because most products on the online sites are discounted. People also prefer online purchasing because they are able to compare from a variety from different parts of the world. Therefore, customers feel that they can buy quality products at reasonable prices.
Online shopping is also advantages in that the buyer does not have to purchase the product immediately. After the customer has viewed the product, they can always come back to the same site when they have the money. Discount coupons can also be used in online shopping. The coupons are acquired from online shopping websites. However, these coupons can only be applied in some shops. This means that the customer is forced to search for a shop that accepts the discount coupon. The introduction of mavatar has made things easier for online shoppers. This is because this site brings together similar products from different sites. This means the customer can access the different products without the burden of going to so many sites (Bill, 2013).
Therefore, online shopping, despite all the risks that it is facing, is still preferred by many people in society. This is because it makes work easier and provides a variety. Women are the major target for this type of shopping because they enjoy shopping compared to men. The women also buy a variety of products in bulk since they shop for their children, spouses and even family members. Unlike men, women enjoy shopping and online shopping makes everything easier.
