However, I feel that a number of changes in the instructions may increase its efficiency. To start with, the pages in the document are not clear and attractive. The author has squeezed most of the information on one page making the document appear less attractive. I would recommend an increase of the space along the margins as well as that between lines in order to make the information clear and eye-catching.
Emphasis on the safety measures will also improve the effectiveness of these installation instructions. These warnings need to be in a language that every customer can understand. For example, ‘Do not target to add 2’’to inside tape measurement when required’ would sound complex to some customers. Consequently, use of a simpler phrase such as ‘Do not extend the required measurements’ is more appropriate. These simpler terms will ensure that the customer using the installation instructions completes the task with ease.
At the same time, use of bright colors will help the purchasers identify the word of warning without difficulties. This is because, as a safety measure, such notices should capture one’s attention even before reading the whole document. The caution sign should also be in a strategic position. In my opinion, it requires to be at the centre of the document for easy recognition by the client. This will not only capture the attention of the client but also raise their curiosity about the whole document.
This installation instructions document also lacks a list of the required tools and materials. It is necessary to inform customers of the necessary equipments in the fixing of the sliding tub door. This will act as a checklist for them at the beginning of the task. They will acquire any needed apparatus that they do not have. In addition, it will reduce any inconveniences that may arise in the middle of the installation process owing to the lack of certain implements. To ensure proper understanding of this apparatus, it is crucial to add some relevant graphics in the list.
The installation instructions need revising to incorporate some follow-up advice. This is because certain clients may not attain the required results after following the procedure provided in the document. This should also contain the producer’s contacts to enable the customer forward his or her grievances or questions to the relevant people. These suggestions will help solve such problems with ease.
